about

Orchestra Ensemble adaptation of "Wind-Up Storm" by ReversalRain

"Wind-Up Storm" was originally a solo piano composition written by Llyona Fang in 2015. This song serves as the leitmotif for ReversalRain Webcomic's protagonist, Melody Rain Jiayin, who is depicted in the cover art.

This new version is a variation on the song for an orchestra ensemble, which features woodwinds, brass, strings, and percussion instrumentation. The orchestral version was originally composed in 2020 for the United Composers Collective, then remastered for official release on 4/24/24.

The use of retrograde compositional technique allows "Wind-Up Storm" to retain the same melody when played in reverse. The Orchestral version, however, features additional leitmotifs for Lukkas Souta Iocu (flute), Renaye Igni Lopes (trumpet), Clarus Seco (cello), Expexes Juneti Cypo (harp), and Jevon Jadin (guitar). This work shares similarities with the "ReversalRain (Opening Theme)" released on 2/4/24.
